Ethereum Generate Private Key From Mnemonic

The mnemonic consists of 12 words and is used to restore your account. Please copy it accurately on paper and keep it in a safe place and do not let anyone know. Note: If the mnemonic is lost, the assets in the account will be permanently lost, there will be no way to get it back! Verify the mnemonic. NOTE: If you ever need to recover the wallet you create here, or any other Ethereum wallet you own, you can tap on “Import Wallet” and using the mnemonic phrase (or private key) you will be.

  • Differences Between Wallet Types (e.g., Private Key vs Keystore) What are the different types of private key formats that I can use to access my wallet? The ETH is stored on the blockchain.
  • You can enter an existing BIP39 mnemonic, or generate a new random one. Typing your own twelve words will probably not work how you expect, since the words require a particular structure (the last word contains a checksum). For more info see the BIP39 spec.

Users need an 'identity' to use imToken, but an identity can only be recovered by the Mnemonic. So, users who only backed up the private key/Keystore will need to 'create identity' and then import the private key / Keystore recovery wallet.

Import private key / Keystore Steps:

  1. Create the identity and enter imToken
  2. Select 'My Profile' in the lower right corner
  3. Click 'Manage your wallet' to enter the wallet management interface.
  4. Click 'Add wallet' to enter the add wallet interface
  5. Select the wallet type
  6. Click 'Import' to import the private key / Keystore
  7. Wallet recovery success

Note:

The Keystore requires the corresponding transaction password to be known.
